Description: San Diego Friends of Tibet needed a new web site that was easy to update, and served as a complete source of information for Activists in the San Diego area and beyond. Quantum Imagery stepped forward to meet that need, pro bono.
The new site is a database-driven, interactive, visually appealing creation. Upcoming events and news are easily added via a simple text form, and interested members can now add themselves to email and snail mail lists directly.
Technical Details: Created primarily with Macromedia Dreamweaver UltraDev, database-driven portions of the site are built in ASP code, with essential portions coded from scratch. An existing Microsoft Access database of member information was used, with new site-specific tables and queries added. Graphics were designed in Adobe Photoshop, and standard JavaScript rollovers are used to add a bit of color.
The technical triumph of the site is the ease of updating, and the queries used to differentiate various types of events, news, and information. The result is a seamless presentation of up-to-date information for visitors.
